On the occasion of the third international museum solo exhibition of Nalini Malani at the Irish Museum of Modern Art Dublin, a book was released by  Edizioni Charta  Milano, the renowned Italian publishing house.  The publication gives a thematic overview of Malani’s work from 1990 onwards with text by Enrique Juncosa, Thomas McEvilley and Chaitanya Sambrani. Her works interrogate the political dynamics in the governance of the Indian nation-state, the process of globalization and the victimization of women.

For the Indian book launch, a podium discussion has been organized between Nalini Malani and Carolyn Christov-Bakargiev that will be accompanied with a video backdrop.

Christov-Bakargiev is the chief curator of the highly prestigious Museo d’Arte Contemporanea Castello di Rivoli, Turin.  In 2005 she initiated a new triennial titled ‘T1-The Pantagruel Syndrome’ that took place here and Malani was invited to show her video installation ‘Mother India’. Next year Christov- Bakargiev will curate the Biennale of Sydney under the theme ‘Revolution- Forms that Turn’.
