1. The exchange between Pablo Picasso and Georges Braque led to Cubism, the most influential art movement of this century. Like “mountain climbers roped together”, they defined its concepts, their fundamental differences of technique, vision and temperament, fueling a joint exploration that led to complex, fragmented and sometimes disconcerting images. This film documents a rare and provocative view of Cubism, and the inspired collaboration of Picasso and Braque.

2. Picasso’s work in three-dimension reveals perhaps even more vividly than his painting, his amazing inventiveness. He possessed an almost supernatural ability to transform ordinary objects, often broken and discarded into powerful representations of human beings, animals or still life. This film takes a look at Picasso’s career as a sculptor, whose technique of construction together with his open approach to materials, had revolutionary effects on modern sculpture.
