This lecture is by Gulammohammed Sheikh, a well-known painter who has held several solo exhibitions. He writes regularly on art and is Professor of Painting at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the M.S. University, Baroda. He also writes poetry in Gujarati.

In this lecture, he will trace the narrative traditions of India through history, with examples of murals, miniatures and other paintings. It is a journey that explores the variety and complexity of the narrative tradition through literature, the performing and visual arts.
