Studio Project: Dhruv Kaji Residence at Alibaug

Ratan Batliboi will present a slide lecture on his project: the Dhruv Kaji Residence at Alibag. The challenge was to create within an elongated plot of 1200 ft. x 700 ft. dense with greenery, a shelter that would do justice to the setting. The effort was to deconstruct the stereotypical mindset, decondition the regular beachfront ­bungalow concepts, and create a changing, living space.
