The Journey of a Photograph

Ketaki Sheth, the well-known photographer based in Mumbai, will present her recent works from The Bombay Series (1998- 2003) and Twinspotting:Photographs of Patel Twins in Britain and India (1995- 1999), relating to social communities in an urban anthropological mode.

Ketaki has received her B.A. in English Literature from Elphinstone College, Mumbai in 1977 and was awarded an MFA in Communication Arts from Cornell University, Ithaca, New York in 1981.  She has been included in numerous solo and group exhibitions in India, Britain and the USA including Century City: Art and Culture in the Modern Metropolis at the Tate Modern in 2001 in London. Among her awards is the Sanskriti Award for Indian Photography and since 2001, her work has been archived and regularly shown at Sepia International, a major gallery in New York. Selected images from her book Twinspotting:  Photographs of Patel Twins in Britain and India were exhibited at the Tate Modern in London in 2001.
